Hello All! Here is a general description of the patient case involved in this journal club this week.

Patient is a 44 y/o male Locksmith presenting with cervical radiculopathy. Symptoms are located in lateral cervical spine and right upper trapezius region that can radiate down right arm to the elbow described as sharpness and pressure; pain also radiates into shoulder blades.
Cervical Exam: extension AROM most significantly limited, rotation bilaterally WNL, and flexion slightly limited. Flexion and right rotation relieve symptoms.
Positive abduction sign; Laying supine relieves symptoms with arm propped in 45 degree abduction; Dermatomes negative, positive right C7 triceps ext/wrist flex myotome fatigable; tenderness to palpation of right upper trapezius and cervical paraspinals.
Trialed grade 1-2 manual cervical traction at IE with head in slight flexion and instructed how to perform at home with towel. Have since educated on how to use a doorway traction set up for improved results (but different from article doorway traction referenced.)
